The fantastic Perth Festival of the Arts celebrated 47 years in May 2018 and delivered another 10 days of music, dance, comedy and art for the people and visitors of Perth City Centre. During our work with the Festival team in 2016 and 2017 on their Small City Package, we established a great relationship and this was extended in 2018 to include a media liaison and digital support package from Red String.

The brief was open and requested simply that we build better engagement on social media, exploit press opportunities that often fly under the radar, and proactively seek out new opportunities for the Festival on local and national platforms.

Red String Involvement:

  • Developing strapline and comms strategy to tie in with the launch of the new logo and brand
  • Presenting at Festival Press Launch
  • Coordinating, writing and circulating media releases throughout the local and Scottish press
  • Creating and organising press photo-calls
  • Assisting in the management of Facebook and Twitter
  • Spreading the word utilising digital channels
  • Opening doors to new opportunities and contacts including Perth Trader’s Association
  • Liaising with artists press offices to maximise opportunities

Overview:

The Festival enjoyed additional press coverage outwith their ‘usual’ exposure including articles, interviews and competitions. Facebook reach in particular was up across daily reach and daily engaged users and this was reflected in small increase in page ‘likes’.

We look forward to working with the Festival again in 2019.
